Path of Exile 2 will ship its full campaign when it leaves early access, Grinding Gear Games confirmed at ExileCon 2026. Game director Jonathan Rogers opened the keynote with a trailer for Acts 5 and 6, then said: “Now in 1.0 the campaign is finally complete.”
Act 5 sends players back to Oriath, where the campaign began. Rogers described a city “ravaged by disaster after disaster,” with one goal: find and stop the Twilight Order and the Beast. A huge harbor chain blocks an assault from the sea, so the player lands on the far side of the island, fights through the city’s center, and lowers the chain from the inside so the armies of Wraeclast can attack. Act 5 is fully playable on the ExileCon show floor.
Acts 5 and 6 add 24 new areas. The zones named on stage were the Twisted Slums, the Rich Estates, the Temple District, and the Grand Arena. There are 18 new unique bosses, among them a giant Rat King in the sewers, corrupted priests of the Twilight Order, and an encounter with the Blight. Rogers said the fights have “multiple phases, tons of abilities, and some incredible challenge.”
The acts also carry more than 20 named rare encounters with their own skills, such as a hidden worshipper of Sin in an underground lair and an artist obsessed with Dominus. “Honestly, these encounters are as cool as a lot of games full bosses,” Rogers said. The studio has also added more to the earlier acts. The live demo showed one, Ayon, Gemling Commander, whose nameplate lists stuns, corpse explosions, and periodic elemental explosions.
The demo also revealed a new death summary screen. Path of Exile 2 1.0 launches December 11. Patch notes for the new acts are not out yet.
