OTGxhh won the Hearthstone World Championship 2026 at BlizzCon on Sunday, beating defending world champion XiaoT 3-1 in the best-of-five Conquest grand final in Anaheim. First place is worth $100,000 from a $500,000 prize pool, according to Liquipedia.
The deciding fourth game was a Druid mirror. XiaoT’s list carried late-game dragons such as Merithra of the Dream, while OTGxhh ran a faster build with a single Rustrot Viper. The Viper destroyed XiaoT’s Staff of Trickery in the early turns, and OTGxhh flooded the board with Treants behind it. “He’s the aggro deck and he’s got the massive hand advantage here,” one caster said.
OTGxhh then cast an Ysera Awakens generated by his Shaladrassil, dealing 5 damage to every character and wiping XiaoT’s board. On 5 health and facing three minions, XiaoT played Merithra of the Dream before its 25-mana condition was met, so the dragons it gave him stayed at full cost. The casters called OTGxhh world champion seconds later, and the trophy lift followed straight away.
XiaoT had opened the series with a Rogue win over OTGxhh’s Priest, before OTGxhh answered with Priest over Druid and Death Knight over Warrior. OTGxhh, the only player in the field of 16 to bring Death Knight according to the casters, reached the final by beating Kwanwoo 3-1 and McBanterFace 3-0. On stage afterwards he said he was really nervous, but by the last game he was quite relaxed.
