KRAFTON and CurseForge have announced a $95,000 global mod contest for PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS ahead of the launch of PUBG: Playgrounds, an in-game hub for community-created modes.
The contest runs from August 12 to September 2, with submissions accepted across three categories: Combat, Survival, and Creative. Modders can create competitive modes, cooperative PvE missions, racing, parkour, party games, and other new ways to play. Community voting will take place from September 6 to 9, with winners announced September 14.
Each category has a $25,000 prize pool. First place in each category wins $10,000, with awards for the top 10 entries. An additional six Community Favorites selected through public voting will receive $2,500 each, and ten creators will get a $500 Mid-Contest Prize. According to KRAFTON, 30 winning modes are planned to be released through PUBG: Playgrounds.
“Since Early Access, PUBG has always been shaped by our players, whose feedback and ideas have influenced its evolution,” said Taehyun Kim, Director of PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS. “With PUBG: Playgrounds, players will be able to take that creativity a step further by building their own modes and experiences directly.”
PUBG: Playgrounds will be accessible through the PUBG Play menu and designed to give player-created mods an official in-game home. CurseForge is operated by Overwolf.
