The Silent Hill 1 remake may arrive next year. A report from MP1st on October 26 says Bloober Team’s remake of the 1999 original is “effectively targeting a launch next year,” and names two cast members: Gabrielle Fritz and Jade Matthew, both UK-based actors. The report does not say which roles they play and could not pin down the specifics, and it does not identify a source for the 2027 target beyond saying it can confirm it. Treat both as unconfirmed until Konami says so.
Fritz and Matthew are named, Harry Mason is not
With roles unconfirmed, the report’s own guess is that the two actors fill some of the original game’s women: Cybil Bennett, the police officer who helps Harry; Lisa Garland, the nurse at Alchemilla Hospital; or Dahlia Gillespie, the cult leader. Nothing has surfaced on the casting of Harry Mason himself, the father searching the fog-bound town for his daughter Cheryl. The casting reportedly ran under the codename Project Noise, with the project called Project G internally.
Konami confirmed the remake in 2025 and wants a Silent Hill a year
What is confirmed is less. Konami and Bloober Team announced in 2025 that a remake of the first Silent Hill was in development, following the success of Bloober’s Silent Hill 2 remake in 2024. Konami producer Motoi Okamoto has said the company wants to release roughly one Silent Hill title a year, and this remake is the only game confirmed for the “second and third waves” he has described. Silent Hill: Townfall, the Scottish-set entry from No Code, launched on September 24, so a 2027 slot for the remake would fit that cadence.
The reaction in the leaks subreddit, where the report drew nearly 200 upvotes, was mostly about Bloober’s other Silent Hill project. The top comment argues that Born from a Wish, the Silent Hill 2 side story, was shelved so Bloober could accelerate the remake, and that the timeline now adds up. That is also speculation. Bloober has Onyx: The Dark Grip due on Switch 2 in 2027 as well.
