The official Disney Dreamlight Valley Instagram account has posted a teaser for a new critter from The Keepsake Sea, and all it shows is a black silhouette. The round body, short flippers and webbed feet look a lot like a penguin to us, and to most players in the r/DreamlightValley thread where the image was shared. The image itself does not name the animal, so treat the penguin as a good guess for now.

Players can’t agree on what is on the critter’s head
The odd part of the outline is the big, bumpy shape around the head and shoulders. Guesses in the thread include a fro, a donut, a shell and a winter parka. One player hopes for “the waiter penguins” too, and another says the outline looks more like a turkey to them.
The candy backdrop looks like Keepsake Sea’s Candy Cove
Behind the silhouette are pink snowy hills, giant lollipops and frosted trees, a close match for Candy Cove, the sweets-themed island Gameloft showed in October. The presenters mentioned a hot chocolate “to keep warm” there, so a cold-weather bird would fit. The teaser does not name the location or say where the critter will live.
The Keepsake Sea launches November 18
That leaves about two weeks for a full reveal. The expansion also brings the merfolk form, three island biomes and Dory as an Adventure Companion, all covered in our showcase roundup.
