Disney Dreamlight Valley: The Keepsake Sea launches on November 18, 2026, Gameloft announced at the Disney Dreamlight Valley 2026 Showcase on October 21. It opened with a new trailer for the paid expansion, first shown in the September Nintendo Direct, then a story deep dive from the developers. According to Gameloft, the expansion arrives on all platforms the game is on.
The trailer frames the Keepsake Sea as a world off the coast of Dreamlight Valley “where you could search for treasure and have fun escaping pirates,” until its Guardians fell asleep and the seas were forgotten. It shows a pirate ship sailing between islands, players swimming in merfolk form through coral reefs, Milo Thatch in a small submarine, Dory, and Captain Hook and Wendy on a moonlit dock.

The story
Riley, lead narrative designer, said the story looks back “to the very heart of Dreamlight Valley and the start of the forgetting.” It begins with a statue found in the waters of Dazzle Beach carrying a single message: “an old friend is lost and stranded.” To find them, players have to reach a faraway kingdom across the sea.
Four Guardians watch over the Keepsake Sea. Once they wake, each one blocks the way until players “prove they have a childlike spirit,” according to the team. Along the route are three new island biomes: Shipwreck Shores, Candy Cove and the Kingdom of Oublié, each with underwater areas below it.
Five new villagers
The expansion adds five villagers, and the deep dive walked through how players meet each one. Milo Thatch from Atlantis: The Lost Empire turns up in a submarine. Once rescued, he acts as a guide, using his cartography and language skills to decipher a lost map and its script.
Captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean is barricaded deep in a pirate fortress. He helps players find their Enchanted Pirate Ship and teaches them to navigate the seas, along with “a few tips and tricks about the pirate code.”

Megara from Hercules is stranded in Candy Cove. “Meg isn’t exactly the trusting sort,” the team said, so players have to prove themselves before she helps. The developers said she “can finally reunite with Hercules.”

Captain Hook from Peter Pan turns up in Candy Cove as well, frustrated to be stuck in a world of candy. Players work with him to uncover relics that open new underwater areas. Finally, Wendy from Peter Pan is met in the Kingdom of Oublié, which sits half sunk beneath the waves. She has “an important secret to share about Dreamlight Valley’s past,” according to the team, along with lessons from Peter Pan himself.

What else was shown
The segment also introduced Dory from Finding Nemo as the first Adventure Companion. The merfolk form, the Pirate Ship and the new editions were detailed later in the show.
