Virtue and a Sledgehammer is out now on PC, published by Devolver Digital and developed by Deconstructeam and Selkie Harbour. The game is available on Steam for $14.99.

The game puts you in the role of a character who tears through their hometown with a sledgehammer. According to the publisher, it is about not belonging where you grew up and the emotions that family can provoke. The press release describes it as a tale of family and violent catharsis.

What the developers say about the game

Deconstructeam creative director Jordi de Paco described the game as a risky project that deals with complicated family dynamics and a lot of pent-up rage. He said the team’s goal is to make people think and feel, even at the risk of upsetting them.

Deconstructeam previously made Red Strings Club and The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood. Selkie Harbour’s previous project is Many Nights a Whisper.

Developer and publisher materials include art, screenshots and trailers, and the publicist says review keys are available on request. A launch trailer is linked from the press release.
