KRAFTON and ReLU Games have released Off the Rails, the second major update for the four-player co-op horror game MIMESIS. The update arrives as the game marks one year in Early Access on Steam, and it adds a new Paranoia system, upgraded Mimesis behavior, a new map and new monsters.
MIMESIS tasks players with surviving together while identifying an AI-controlled Mimesis that copies their appearance, movements, behavior and voices in real time. According to the publisher, the new Paranoia system changes what each player sees and hears based on their contamination level. One player may see a Mimesis that teammates cannot, or hear voices no one else can hear.
Mimesis AI gets more natural behavior and a film studio map
The Mimesis has been upgraded to observe player habits and react to its surroundings, which according to the developers makes its imitation more convincing and its encounters less predictable. The update also adds a film studio map with no clear split between indoor and outdoor areas. It begins with a crash-landing sequence that sends the team’s tram somewhere it was not supposed to go.
Off the Rails also brings new monsters, Scrap, Service Stations, equipment that increases inventory capacity or aids communication, and new traps. The user interface has been overhauled, according to the publisher.
To mark the first year in Early Access, players can generate a personalized Survival Report based on their gameplay history and receive a commemorative anniversary skin. Steam’s Scream V Halloween sale takes 60% off the game from October 27 through November 3, the largest discount since launch, according to the publisher. Pre-orders for new MIMESIS merchandise open October 27 through EBTEN.
According to KRAFTON, the game surpassed two million copies sold worldwide in June and became the first Korean game to receive an Excellence Award in the Game Design category at the CEDEC Awards 2026. It also holds a “Very Positive” user rating on Steam.
