KRAFTON and Neon Giant have announced a major update for The Ascent arriving in November 2026 on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. The update marks the game’s fifth anniversary and comes as it surpasses 12 million players.
The patch will improve co-op teleportation, the encounter system, save-game reliability, player-progression safeguards, and HDR support. The studio is also planning key localization improvements across all supported languages, with final details to be shared closer to release.
Neon Giant co-founder Arcade Berg said the update reflects the studio’s commitment to strengthening the current experience while expanding the world of Veles. KRAFTON took on direct publishing responsibilities for The Ascent in March 2026 and is backing the update and the franchise’s longer-term direction.
The announcement also hints at broader franchise ambitions. Neon Giant is planning to expand The Ascent across new platforms, genres, and future sequels, though specifics remain unconfirmed. The studio said more details on how the franchise will expand will be shared as those plans take shape.
The Ascent originally launched on PC and Xbox in July 2021 and became the most-played PC game on Xbox Game Pass. It arrived on PlayStation in March 2022, followed by the Cyber Heist DLC in August 2022. The game is a cyberpunk action-shooter RPG that supports solo play and co-op for up to four players.
