PlayStation Plus members get Dead Island 2, Tomb Raider IV to VI Remastered and Monster Train 2 as November’s Monthly Games, Sony confirmed on the PlayStation Blog. All three are available to Essential, Extra and Premium members from Tuesday, November 3 through Monday, November 30.
October’s games leave the claim window first. F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 can be added to your library until Monday, November 2.
Dead Island 2 brings HELL-A and three-player co-op to PS5 and PS4
Dambuster Studios’ zombie RPG is the headline game, playable on both PS5 and PS4. It drops you into a quarantined Los Angeles with a pulpy story, a cast of eccentric survivors and a melee-first arsenal built for slicing and smashing through hordes. The campaign can be played solo or in online co-op for up to three players.
Tomb Raider IV to VI Remastered completes the set April’s lineup started
The second collection of Aspyr’s Tomb Raider remasters bundles The Last Revelation, Chronicles and The Angel of Darkness, and like the first set it lets you swap between the original polygonal models and the remastered look at any time. PlayStation Plus handed out Tomb Raider I to III Remastered as one of April’s Monthly Games, so anyone who claimed that one can now hold all six classic Lara Croft games through the subscription.
Monster Train 2 is PS5 only and gets The Punished clan on November 10
Shiny Shoe’s deckbuilding roguelite is the one game in the trio limited to PS5. You defend three vertical floors of a train with clans of allied angels and demons, five of them at launch, on a run through Hell, Heaven and the Abyss to stop the Titans. It is the most praised pick in the lineup, and the timing is good: Monster Train 2 adds The Punished clan on November 10, a week after the game joins the catalog. Our Monster Train 2 review covers how it builds on the original.
Players rate the lineup a quiet month with one clear winner
The r/PlayStationPlus thread on the announcement was lukewarm on the trio as a whole, with several members noting that all three games already sit in the Extra tier catalog. Monster Train 2 drew the warmest replies, and the Tomb Raider pick was welcomed by players who claimed the first trilogy in April. Dead Island 2 split the thread between people who found it fun with friends and those who found it empty alone.
