Petit Planet has a release date, and it arrived before the show that was supposed to deliver it. HoYoverse announced on Thursday night that its cozy galactic life sim launches worldwide on December 4, with pre-downloads opening on December 1. The announcement landed two days ahead of the Pre-Launch Special Program on November 1, which the community had pegged as the moment the date would finally land.
Which platforms get it on December 4
The official post calls it a launch on “all platforms,” but the key art lists four: iOS through the App Store, Android through Google Play, the Epic Games Store, and Windows. There is no mention of PlayStation, Xbox or Switch, and HoYoverse has not announced a console version.
That gap was the first thing the game’s subreddit noticed. “It’s not on the PS5? Or it will be at a later date?” asked one reply to the announcement, and another summed up the platform list as “just PC and phones.” Others were happy to take the date and run: “IT’S A RELEASE DATE. BEFORE THE STREAM EVEN,” reads one of the top comments.

Pre-downloads start on December 1, three days before launch, so the client can be installed and ready before servers open. Pre-registration is still open on the official site and the mobile stores, with HoYoverse promising “exclusive rewards” for signing up before launch. The release date trailer, published alongside the announcement, runs just under three minutes and walks through planet decorating, fishing, cooking, card games and a candlelit dinner with the game’s animal neighbours.

What the November 1 program is for now
With the date already public, the Pre-Launch Special Program on Sunday, November 1 (19:00 UTC+8, which is 6:00 AM EST after US clocks fall back that morning) becomes a showcase rather than a reveal. HoYoverse has said viewers will “join the dev team and a special guest for a first look at life on your own planet,” so expect launch details, systems and possibly the pre-registration rewards to be spelled out there.
Petit Planet is HoYoverse’s first life sim, pitched as a planet of your own that you decorate, farm and share with friends. Pre-registration opened in August, the final beta test ran from September 20, and the winter 2026 window has now narrowed to a single day.
