Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Encore Edition is out now on Nintendo Switch 2. Developed by Eidos-Montréal with Marvel Games and distributed by PLAION Partners, the release is an optimized version of the award-winning game for Nintendo’s new console.
What the Encore Edition adds
The edition includes five exclusive outfits, one for each of the Guardians, inspired by 1980s glam rock. According to the publisher, these looks are available only in the Encore Edition.
Switch 2 players can also use mouse controls for menus and aiming, using the console’s built-in mouse. Gyroscope support lets players tilt the controller to steer the Milano through space or move Peter during sliding and zero-gravity sequences.
Performance modes
In TV mode there are two graphics settings. Quality targets 30 fps at 1440p, while Performance, available on 120Hz TVs only, targets 40 fps at 1080p. In handheld mode, the game targets 30 fps.
To mark the launch, the single “Encore” by Steve Szczepkowski and Yohann Boudreault, the duo behind the fictional Star-Lord Band, is available on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and other digital platforms. A launch trailer is on YouTube.
