Core Keeper free on Steam this weekend with new Riders of the Underground update

Pugstorm and Fireshine Games are hosting a free weekend for Core Keeper on Steam from Oct. 8-12, letting players try the full game including rideable mounts.

Core Keeper is free to play on Steam this weekend, running from Oct. 8 at 10am PT through Oct. 12 at 10am PT. Pugstorm and Fireshine Games are opening the full version of the mining sandbox to new players, with progress carrying over if they purchase during or after the free weekend.

The free weekend includes the new Riders of the Underground update, which adds rideable mounts and a Hookshot tool for exploration. Players can tackle the game solo or in 2-8 player online co-op.

Core Keeper has reached over 6 million players according to the publisher. The game tasks players with exploring biomes, defeating Titans, harvesting resources, building bases, fishing, cooking, and hatching pets as they uncover the secrets of an ancient underground cavern.

The game is available on PC, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
