Dotemu and Triskell Interactive released a gameplay trailer for Theos: Cities of Myth, their upcoming city builder inspired by classic titles like Pharaoh. The game launches later in 2026 on PC.
In Theos, you build ancient Greek cities centered around one of seven Olympian gods—Ares, Athena, and others included. Your settlement grows outward from The Sanctuary, your chosen god’s seat of power. You manage resource chains, housing, food, and entertainment for residents while keeping your deity satisfied; ignoring a god’s desires risks divine wrath that can topple even thriving cities.
Appeasing your god grants blessings and attracts legendary figures like Socrates or Aristotle to bolster your city. New to the series are real-time battles—amass armies to defend against or conquer neighboring rivals—and a trading system to build economic empires. The game includes building tools carried over from Pharaoh: A New Era, letting players design intricate cities down to individual walking paths.
Theos offers dozens of hours across adventure campaigns and a sandbox mode. Triskell developed the game using an “intuitive UI, dynamic lighting and thoughtful design” to modernize classic city-building mechanics for current audiences, according to the publisher. The game will be available on Steam.
