Switch 2 owners should get Cyberpunk 2077’s big autumn update a day from now. Marcin Momot, CD Projekt Red’s global community director, posted on Monday: “If all goes according to plan, Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.5 lands on Nintendo Switch 2 tomorrow.” The post ends with a crossed-fingers emoji, which is about as firm as CD Projekt Red gets with a date.
Update 2.5, the Edgerunners 2 Update, went live on October 22 on PC, Mac, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. At the time the studio said only that the Switch 2 version was “coming soon.” The five-day gap has left Switch 2 players on a different version from their PC and PlayStation copies, and one of the first replies in the Switch 2 subreddit was from someone who could not move between their PC and Switch 2 saves because of it.
What 2.5 adds: Clampdown, Edgerunners 2 content and cross-platform mods
The update is built around the second season of the Edgerunners anime, with content inspired by the show, a new side quest called Clampdown, restricted dual-wielding, a field-of-view slider on consoles and mod support that works across platforms through mod.io. The patch notes also list a fix for the “Save failed, insufficient space” error that has hit Switch 2 players, which on its own is reason to update.
The update is free. CD Projekt Red has not said whether Switch 2 gets the same mod support as the other consoles, and Momot’s wording leaves room for the date to slip. We will update this post when the patch is live on Nintendo’s store.
