Devolver Digital and Team Lazerbeam announced that the double deckbuilder roguelike Shroom and Gloom will launch on Steam Early Access on September 10. The first-person dungeon crawler tasks players with exploring hand-drawn caves using two distinct decks: one for exploration and one for combat.
The game features hundreds of cards spread across those two decks, with synergies and combos forming the backbone of its gameplay. Players can upgrade cards infinitely, transforming basic starting cards into powerful weapons or turning rare cards into game-breaking tools. Every enemy encountered can be eaten to restore health or cooked into soups that provide gameplay benefits.
Shroom and Gloom has generated over 200,000 demo downloads since its demo launched on Steam. A gameplay trailer and Steam demo are available now. The game will feature hand-drawn art combined with 3D environments, hundreds of unique enemies, and deep meta progression systems across a network of caves leading to the mysterious underground realm called The Gloom.
