KingsIsle Entertainment has launched The Trail Goes Cold, a major content update for the free-to-play MMO Pirate101 that takes players to Polaris, a frozen world connected to the Golden Age of Piracy. The update is out now on PC.
The new storyline continues the main Race to El Dorado narrative. Players begin their journey with One-Eyed Jack in Flotsam before sailing to Polaris, where they can explore the capital city, visit taverns and vendors, and venture into the frozen wilderness rumored to hide an abominable beast.
The update introduces Oleg, a new Privateer companion that joins players’ crews. It also adds new enemies and rewards to discover throughout the region. Standard MMO features return in the new area, including Stormgate travel, ship docking, Team Up Kiosk functionality, Group Plunder Chests, and the Midnight Moon Taverne and Cellar.
Pirate101 is a family-friendly MMORPG where players create pirates, recruit companions, and engage in tactical, board game-style combat across the Skyways of the Spiral.
