Fat Goblins, a spiritual successor to Fat Princess, lands on Steam November 12 from solo developer Koda Games. The game combines real-time strategy with team-based capture-the-flag combat, supporting up to 32 players in matches where two teams fight to rescue their princess from the opposing fortress.

Gameplay revolves around hat-based class changing. Players pick up different hats on the battlefield to switch between warrior, mage, and archer roles on the fly. The game also includes a necromancer mode where players can resurrect dead goblins to build undead armies. Strategy extends beyond combat to base building and resource management — chopping trees for wood, constructing barracks, upgrading fortresses, and placing defenses like catapults.

A distinctive mechanic lets players feed the enemy princess meat to slow down her army. The cartoonish goblin-themed setting frames the action around competing teams trying to steal each other’s royalty while defending their own castle.
