KING Art Games has released two Battlefield Report videos showcasing Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV’s multiplayer mode, with Creative Director Jan Theysen and Senior Game Designer Elliott Verbiest facing off in 1v1 matches to demonstrate how each of the game’s four factions plays.
The first video pits Adeptus Mechanicus against Necrons. The Adeptus Mechanicus expand their Noosphere Network, build defensive firing lines with superior technology, and hold key positions. The Necrons advance their Power Matrix across the battlefield, resurrect fallen units, and apply constant pressure to overwhelm opponents.
The second video features Space Marines versus Orks. Space Marines rely on battlefield discipline and overwhelming firepower to obliterate enemies, while Orks grow stronger through momentum, swelling their numbers until they become unstoppable.
According to the studio, each faction requires fundamentally different strategic approaches. The strategy game launches September 17, 2026, with early access on September 14 for Commander Edition owners. Both editions are available to pre-order now with a 10% discount.
Year One content includes free updates bringing back Crusade Mode, new maps, modes, Commanders, and a Mission Editor. Two major story expansions will also arrive, introducing a new playable faction alongside deepening the conflict on Kronus.
