Traega Entertainment and Fireshine Games released the Hounds of Zeus major update for Dawn of Defiance today, bringing a new raid with three boss encounters, legendary weapons, and expanded gameplay systems to the Greek mythology survival game.
The raid takes players to a skyborne area sealed within Zeus’ Temple, where they face off against mythical Harpies. Defeating these bosses rewards three Legendary weapons: the Distortions of Dionysus, the Veiled Blade of Hermes, and Zeus’ hammer Voidstorm. Players can also earn the Praetorian armor set and hunt for three new Unique-tier swords and Forged-tier Pathfinder armor in the Crossroads.
Beyond combat, the update adds farming and cooking systems. Players can plant crops at their homestead, harvest ingredients, and use them in cooking recipes that provide both culinary and combat benefits. New structures include a water reservoir, planter box, improved cooking spit, and cooking pot, alongside decorative items like stone furniture and trophy helm stands.
The mountain biome receives a significant overhaul with new puzzles, chalices to fill, races to complete, and an unexplored cave system containing new resources for players to discover.
Dawn of Defiance is available at 40% discount until October 22 on Steam and Epic Games Store. The developers have announced a full 1.0 release planned for next year.
