Element Games has released a free demo for Bloom Control on Steam, giving players a first look at the developer’s upcoming fast-action sci-fi incremental game. The full release is planned for 2027.
In Bloom Control, players control an advanced AI transmitting into infested space stations to eradicate a hostile growth called the Bloom before time runs out. The game combines real-time combat with incremental progression, letting players improve their capabilities across attempts through upgrades like Codons, Exoprograms, and Modules.
Each mission tasks you with using security weaponry to eliminate the Bloom as it rapidly expands around you. When a mission becomes unmanageable, you can resimulate it with upgraded loadouts and try again. Different threats encourage experimenting with different builds as you push into increasingly dangerous locations.
The game also weaves a larger mystery throughout. Intel and secrets scattered across locations gradually reveal the origin of the Bloom and details about the player’s own existence.
Element Games is the studio behind Reality Break, which launched on Steam in 2025 and earned a Very Positive user-review rating according to the developer.
