Big Shot Pictures has optioned the rights to adapt the CookieRun franchise into a feature-length film, with a target release date of 2029. The film will coincide with the 20th anniversary of OvenBreak, the original mobile game that launched the franchise.

Big Shot, the family entertainment company founded by Brian Robbins, will lead production with developer Devsisters overseeing creative direction. Robbins previously worked on game adaptations including the Sonic the Hedgehog films through his work at Nickelodeon and Paramount Pictures.

According to the publisher, the CookieRun franchise has more than 300 million players and over $1 billion in lifetime revenue. CookieRun: Kingdom was named one of YouTube’s Top 10 U.S. trending topics in 2025. The franchise has expanded beyond games, with CookieRun’s first U.S. pop-up in Times Square attracting over 40,000 visitors and its trading card game CookieRun: Braverse landing on Amazon’s Top 100 Toys of 2026.
