The short answer
- Tiger Cannon
- A late-game Phantom Edge. Beat Lei Dang, a two-phase boss in Mirage Estate near the Perfect Vessel Pond Bell. It also breaks weakened stone walls, even when it is not equipped.
- Fiend Saws
- A dual-wield primary weapon from Mu Xiaokui, Young Mistress of the Order, at Lakeside in Village of Lu. You only get it from a secret extra phase, opened by touching all five ribbons in the village through the Young Mistress quest.
- Where weapons come from
- Almost every weapon drops from a boss. You carry 2 primary weapons and 2 Phantom Edges, and you upgrade them to level 30 at the Forge or any Bell.
- Missable
- The Fiend Saws are missable, and so is the Wild Oriole Sword at the dock after the same fight. Do the ribbons before you challenge Mu Xiaokui.

30-second quick start (TL;DR)
- Tiger Cannon: beat Lei Dang in Mirage Estate. Hold R2 to charge up to three stages.

- Early favourites: players who finished lean on the Outlaw Warblade and Jagged Steel.
What this guide helps you do
Phantom Blade Zero launched on October 29, 2026 on PS5 and PC (Steam and Epic). Before launch the director said there would be about 30 main weapons and a little over 20 secondary weapons, all earned from bosses. This guide covers the Tiger Cannon and the Fiend Saws, where every primary weapon and Phantom Edge comes from, how upgrades work, and which weapons players use.
It is written for the launch version with the day-one patch. Sources backed by only one report are marked. The “best” picks are what finished players use, not tested rankings.
You carry two primary weapons and two Phantom Edges
Your loadout is two primary weapons, two Phantom Edges, two medicines and your accessories. You can swap weapons in the middle of a fight, and that matters: each primary weapon has its own Sha-Chi bar, the guard meter. When one runs low, swap and you have a full bar again. Players break a guard with one weapon, then swap and burst with the other.
Phantom Edges are secondary weapons in their own slots. They use a charge resource called Remnant Sparks, refilled at Bells. Several double as exploration keys:
- Dread Axe breaks giant chains.
- Tiger Cannon breaks weakened stone walls.
- Feather Bow shoots bow targets.
- Illusory Pipa clears fog.
- Flaming Mane burns brambles.
The director has said enemies do not respawn and map resources are finite, so the refund option below matters.
The Tiger Cannon drops from Lei Dang in Mirage Estate
The Tiger Cannon is a Destructive Phantom Edge and one of the last you will find. It is the reward for beating Lei Dang, a two-phase boss in Mirage Estate. One guide places him at the Perfect Vessel Pond Bell. Reports title him either “the Tiger Cannon” or “the Order’s Envoy”.
Mirage Estate opens only after the Serpent Door in Pangzhen, which is the first point of no return for the true ending. Read the true ending guide before you go through.
How it works, per one detailed item listing:
- Charge: hold R2 to charge up to three stages. Each shot costs one Remnant Spark. Base damage is listed as 310.
- Firearm: shots ignite explosives and shatter frozen enemies, though not elites.
- Stone-Clearing Shot: breaks weakened stone walls, even when the cannon is not equipped.
- Arts: Full Blast (Soul Temper, level 5, L1 and R2, two Sparks), Tiger Step (level 10), Spreading Blaze Lv. 1 (level 15), Double Roar (level 25), and Tooth for Tooth, a counter to red and blue flash attacks for one Spark.
The Fiend Saws need all five ribbons before the Mu Xiaokui fight
The Fiend Saws are a dual-wield primary weapon, and they are missable. They come from Mu Xiaokui, Young Mistress of the Order, the chapter boss at Lakeside in Village of Lu. The normal fight runs through her and then Iron Fiend and Jade Dancer. The saws only drop from a secret extra phase against Jade Dancer.
To open that phase, interact with all five ribbons in the village, which is the Young Mistress quest. Do this before you start the fight. The same win also awards Puppet No. 44’s Eye and Fist Fragment: Core.
Straight after, the Wild Oriole Sword is waiting at the dock. If you leave the area without it, it is gone.
One listing gives these numbers:
| Fiend Saws | Details |
|---|---|
| Level 1 | 302 damage, 120 guard break |
| Level 30 | 1,179 damage, 468 guard break |
| Weapon arts | Fiend-Aura Erosion; Endless Fiend Form (Tempering); Fiend Form (Power Surge, one Sha-Chi Essence) |
| Unlocks by level | Charged Onslaught (5), Corrosion Burst (10), Charged Frenzy (15), Corrosive Severance (25) |

The 25 Phantom Edges fall into five types
The official count is 25 Phantom Edges. One full list sorts them like this:
| Type | Phantom Edges |
|---|---|
| Artifice | Bastion, Flaming Mane, Flying Guillotine, Illusory Pipa, You Loong’s Deluge |
| Destructive | Bashpole, Dread Axe, Tiger Cannon, War Wagon, Wolfjaw |
| Martial | Fire Meteor, Hunter’s Chain Sickle, Ink Cut, Iron Gauntlets, Thunder Spear |
| Ranged | Feather Bow, Flying Dagger, Goldblaze, Loong Trident, One-Eyed Bow |
| Summoning | Inanis’ Radiant Fan, Kuye Temple Prayer Beads, Puppeteer’s Bell, Swordsman’s Summon |
Known sources so far:
- Dread Axe: Peng Meng, the Axemaster, Weeping Creek Valley.
- Feather Bow: the Purge the Sect Tale. See how to get the bow.
- Flaming Mane: Flame, the Lion Dance Grandmaster, Pangzhen.
- Bashpole: Wan Jun “Coppermaul”, Mandate Encampment.
- Swordsman’s Summon: Red, Chief Disciple of the Seven-Stars, Mandate Encampment.
- Illusory Pipa: three parts, repaired by Myst at the Pangzhen tavern.
- One-Eyed Bow: the One-Eyed Archer, One-Eyed Isle Dock, Meigu Lake.
- Loong Trident: You Loong, the Frenzied Blackwater Crewleader, Blackwater Crew Dock (one report).
- Flying Guillotine: Huangxing, the Kunlun Renegade, Mountain of Imprisonment.
- Tiger Cannon: Lei Dang, Mirage Estate.
Players also notice that some Phantom Edges give a free follow-up attack called Flowing Chi. They have seen it on the Dread Axe, Iron Gauntlets, Fire Meteor, daggers and a spear. The game does not list which ones do.
Upgrades start at the Forge and go to level 30
You meet the NPC called Forge at the Outpost in Weeping Creek Valley. Once you have, weapon upgrades are available at every Bell. The cap is level 30, and new perks and arts unlock at levels 5, 10, 15 and 25. The materials for the top levels arrive near the end of the game.
The director has confirmed you can reset a weapon’s upgrades to get the materials back. One guide adds that resetting from level 10 or higher costs a Weapon Reforge Talisman, sold by merchants, with enough around for about a dozen resets.
Soul Tempering with Myst in Pangzhen transforms some weapons, per one report: the Sanguine Reach becomes the Blazing Edge (it needs Scorching Flame fragments), and the Sanguine becomes the Infernal Rouge. That is why some players keep their starting Sanguine upgraded.
Upgrades, skills and accessories all cost Remnant Dust, and players report running short around 15 hours in.
The Outlaw Warblade and Jagged Steel are what players use early
No one has published tested damage rankings. These are the weapons players who finished the game keep coming back to.
- Outlaw Warblade: your hits heal you, and its Sha-Chi combo spends HP instead. The most used early pick.
- Jagged Steel: every hit builds Bleed. Available about an hour in.
- The Fanatic’s Broken Blade: drinking makes you Tipsy and opens ranged combos.
- White Serpent & Crimson Viper: 312 damage and 164 guard break at level 1.
For later, one guide calls the Baishan Stormswords arguably the strongest, and also rates the Fiend Saws, Parting Hooks (for counters), Wild Oriole Sword and Soft Snake Sword (for parrying).
One warning: Bleed and lifesteal are weak against Puppets, Phantoms and “Golden Bodies” unless you wear the Livingwood Talisman, which players say brings them to 70% effectiveness at +1. That matters for the Outlaw Warblade and Jagged Steel.
For Phantom Edges, nobody has a ranking. Player favourites include the Hunter’s Chain Sickle (its level 15 pull-cancel saves charges), Flying Guillotine, Ink Cut, Iron Gauntlets and Bashpole.
Step-by-step: Fiend Saws, then Tiger Cannon

Interact with every ribbon in the village to complete the Young Mistress quest.
Fight Mu Xiaokui at Lakeside
Win through to the secret extra phase against Jade Dancer for the Fiend Saws.
Take the Wild Oriole Sword
It is at the dock right after. Do not leave first.
Open Mirage Estate

Beat Lei Dang
Near the Perfect Vessel Pond Bell. He has two phases. The Tiger Cannon is yours.
Troubleshooting and common mistakes
- Mistake: Fighting Mu Xiaokui before the ribbons. Fix: Without all five, the extra phase never starts and the Fiend Saws are lost.
- Mistake: Leaving the dock after the Lakeside fight. Fix: Pick up the Wild Oriole Sword first. It is missable.
- Mistake: Upgrading every weapon a little. Fix: Remnant Dust runs short. Commit to two, and reset if you change your mind.
- Mistake: Fighting with one weapon only. Fix: Each primary has its own Sha-Chi bar. Swap when one runs low.
