The short answer
- When
- Ludra opens on November 4, 2026, after that day’s maintenance, in all five regions: Europe, NA East, NA West, South America and Asia. Normal and Hard are both open from day one.
- Who can enter
- Item level 2,800 for Normal and 3,000 for Hard, at character level 45, in a 10-player party.
- What it is
- A three-stage raid: an Abyss Fusion Reactor, then the party splits to fight Isolation Specialist Rahu and Abyssal Wings Ketu at the same time, then everyone faces Eternal Ludra. NC says the global version has new mechanics, so the fight below is the version Korea and global early access played.
- Why it is “returning”
- Ludra was in global early access and NC pulled it at full launch because players beat it with far less gear than intended. Early access Ludra gear was taken away and is due back when the raid reopens.

What this guide helps you do
Ludra is AION 2’s first real raid on the global servers, and NC is treating its return as an event, with launch titles, a check-in calendar, Twitch drops and a Hall of Fame. This guide covers what is confirmed for November 4, how to reach the item level in the three days left, how the fight worked in the version players already know, what it drops, and the event rewards you can collect without ever stepping inside.
Everything marked official comes from NC’s “Ludra Awakens on November 4th” notice, last updated October 30, and the weekly patch notes. Mechanics and loot come from the Korean servers, where Ludra has run since late 2025, and from global early access, and we label them clearly because NC has promised new mechanics. Expect this page to change on Wednesday.
One search tip: Ludra is also the name of a European Asmodian server, so results about server transfers and population are about the server, not the raid.
Ludra was in early access, and NC pulled it
If you played AION 2 between September 30 and October 4, you may already have seen Ludra. It was open in global early access as the Sanctuary raid, and it was gone at the full launch on October 5. NC’s reason, as reported at the time: players defeated it with much less prior progress than the team expected. The raid was taken out to be reworked.
What that means for you on November 4:
- The item level floor went up. Early access players remember a lower bar, around 2,700. The returning raid asks 2,800 for Normal.
- There is now a Hard mode at 3,000. The Korean and Taiwanese versions never had one.
- The mechanics changed. NC’s notice says Ludra returns “with new mechanics”. The core fight is expected to keep its shape, but do not trust a pre-rework guide on the details, including the one below.
- Early access gear is coming back. Ludra items looted in early access were removed temporarily, with a promise to return them when the raid reopens. The October 27 patch notes say the item retrieval and restoration schedule will be announced after the server transfer period ends.
Entry requirements
| Requirement | Normal | Hard |
|---|---|---|
| Item level | 2,800 | 3,000 |
| Character level | 45 (the current cap) | 45 |
| Party size | 10 | 10 |
| Opens | Nov 4 after maintenance | Nov 4 after maintenance |
| Counts for ranked titles | No, Ludra’s Nemesis only | Yes |
| Weekly attempts, time limit, entry cost | Not announced | Not announced |
For reference only: the Korean version ran with 8-player parties, a 40 plus 40 minute time limit, and two attempts a week by the end of its run. The global version uses 10 players, so expect other numbers to differ too. Whether Normal and Hard share a lockout is the most-asked open question, and NC has not answered it.
Getting to 2,800 item level before Wednesday
NC spent October laying a path to the raid, and every step has an official number. In order:
- Run the Hard Expeditions. Hard Krao Cave and Draupnir opened October 21 at item level 2,600; Hard Urugugu Canyon and Vakron Sky Island opened October 28 at 2,700. All four have a four-minute boss Frenzy timer and three revives per player. They drop Philosopher’s Stone: Revelation, Ariel Fragments (Urugugu and Vakron guarantee their own), Unique crafting materials and Wrathful Mind, Will and Ego.
- Convert Ariel Fragments. 100 fragments make one Daevanion Crystal: Ariel through Substance Morph, up to 30 per character; any spare fragment converts into five Enhance Stones with no limit. Players report each crystal is worth one point of gear score.
- Enhance what you have. A community gear route, built from client data, goes Unique item level 86 gear from Fire Temple and Horn Den at around 2,100, Transcendence stage 4 Unique cards around 2,500, then +15 on Enraged Kromede and Nuakum gear. Past 2,800, the better pieces are crafted.
- Do not forget PvP crystals. Abyss feathers give Azphel crystals worth around 50 item level in total, easier to collect on the bigger faction.
- Claim the free Odyle Energy. Log in every day until November 10 for 4x Odyle Energy by mail, one delivery per account per day. The mail expires after seven days. Older articles say 2x; NC raised it.

How the fight worked before the rework
This is the version from the Korean servers and global early access. NC says the November 4 version has new mechanics, so use it to understand the shape of the fight, not as a script.
Stage one: the Abyss Fusion Reactor
The raid opens on a reactor shielded by auxiliary reactors. While they run, the core cannot be damaged. One or two players take the air platforms up and destroy the auxiliaries, then the group breaks the core.
Stage two, group A: Isolation Specialist Rahu
- The timer circles. Rahu puts a pink damage-over-time circle on players. Pass it on. A circle that runs out leaves a violet pool, and three violet pools in the arena wipe the group.
- The sweep. An unblockable arena-wide attack. The only safe spot is a small cone directly behind Rahu.
- At 50 percent the arena splits into four quadrants along a violet cross. The group picks one and commits.
- At 25 percent adds called Abyssal Predators spawn. One targeted player aims a line attack through them; any left alive become more violet pools.
Stage two, group B: Abyssal Wings Ketu
- Red eye, blue eye. When Ketu shows a red eye, face it. Blue, face away. The wrong reaction hits very hard.
- Falling purple orbs have to be absorbed by jumping into them, or they explode.
- Laser walls sweep the arena, and a spirit phase sends spirits toward marks on the floor; kill them before they arrive or they explode and fear the group.
- Below about 40 percent Ketu aims a cone at every player. Break a Soul Stone crystal, one per player, for a few seconds of invulnerability.
Korean players rated Ketu the hardest of the three and said a Cleric who can resurrect is close to mandatory there. A Ranger helps with the spirits.
Stage three: Eternal Ludra
- Positioning: stay off the head and the tail. Claw slams cover the front.
- Orbs: blue orbs are jumped; red orbs need an invulnerability or block skill, usually the tank’s.
- Circles and lightning: a big donut of burning circles (in, then out), lightning spikes (spread), and a lightning pillar.
- Ludra’s Ordeal, around 50 percent: the tile puzzle. Players drop spikes to light tiles and find the one safe cube. Fail and the raid wipes; succeed and Ludra staggers for a damage window. Korean players call it the bingo pattern.
- Around 30 percent: red and blue tethers. Group up with your colour.
- Around 10 percent: coloured platforms. Stand on your colour, one player per platform, to survive the lightning breath.

Ludra loot: weapons, the Heart and the bracelet
NC has not published a loot table. These come from datamines of the global client and from the Korean item database, so treat names and rates as likely, not final.
| Item | Details |
|---|---|
| Ludra weapons | Eight Unique weapons, item level 102: Ludra’s Blade of Extinction, Ludra’s Scale Sword, Ludra’s Claw, Ludra’s Fatal Bow, Ludra’s Grimoire, Ludra’s Abyssal Jade, Ludra’s Fatal Mace and Ludra’s Heavenbound Staff. Four Manastone and one Theostone socket, enhance to +15, +20 with Amplified Enhancement. Bound on pickup. Datamined at 0.56 percent each per Eternal Ludra kill. |
| Ludra’s Heart | A guard at item level 102, same datamined rate. |
| Abyssal Forge: Weapon Selection Chest (Bound) | Lets you pick a Ludra weapon or the Heart. How you earn it on global is not confirmed. |
| Ludra’s Bracelet | Heroic bracelet, item level 98. Korean rates: about 2 percent from Eternal Ludra, 1.3 percent each from Rahu and Ketu. |
| Other Eternal Ludra drops | Datamined: Amplify Stone Fragment and Balaur’s Essence on every kill, Philosopher’s Stone: Revelation at 30 percent, Wrathful Mind, Will and Ego at 10 percent each, plus Kina, Manastones and gear. |
Two things are open. Nobody knows whether Hard drops more or better than Normal, because Korea never had a Hard mode to compare. And one global player reports Ludra weapons show three soul-binding lines in Substance Morph, against four in the Korean database. Korea later added guaranteed rewards, a Gear Change Voucher: Ludra and an Abyss Box per clear, to soften those sub-1-percent rates; global has not announced anything similar yet.
Ludra launch events and titles
Ludra Hunt titles
From November 4 after maintenance until the November 24 maintenance (November 25 in Europe), the first clears per region earn titles. NC renamed them on October 30, so ignore older articles.

|---|---|---|
| 1 | First Hard clear party per region (10 players) | The First to Slay Ludra |
| 2 | Hard clear parties 2 to 5 (40 players) | Ludra’s Conqueror |
| 3 | Hard clear parties 6 to 20 (150 players) | Ludra’s Vanquisher |
| All | Everyone else who clears Normal or Hard in the window | Ludra’s Nemesis |
Ranks 1 to 3 carry a purple title effect. Titles arrive by December 2 at 23:59 PST, and clears are recorded in an in-game Hall of Fame.

Common mistakes
- Mistake: Trusting an early access guide. Fix: NC changed the mechanics. Use old guides for the shape of the fight only.
- Mistake: Running Normal for a ranked title. Fix: Only Hard clears count for ranks 1 to 3. Normal earns Ludra’s Nemesis.
- Mistake: Looking for 2x Odyle. Fix: It is 4x now, one per account per day.
- Mistake: Planning to gather your way to gold. Fix: 1,000 gathers per server per day since October 28.
- Mistake: Giving the healer a mechanic. Fix: Korean clears say the healer’s only job is to stay alive.
- Mistake: Searching “Ludra” for raid news. Fix: Half the results are about the EU server called Ludra. Add “raid”.
