Midwest Games is establishing a presence in Lisbon, Portugal, as part of its expansion into Europe. The publisher will use the hub to build relationships with developers, publishers, and partners across the region.
Founder and CEO Ben Kvalo said the move brings the company closer to European talent and lets it support teams with the flexible, modular publishing approach Midwest Games offers. Rather than a traditional all-or-nothing model, the publisher tailors support based on what each developer needs.
Midwest Games is already working with European studios including Barcelona-based Melbot Studios on the action roguelite GodsTV, planned for Early Access later this year. The publisher has also partnered with Mindscape and remote control productions on projects in the region.
The company will make its first public appearance from the new hub at gamescom 2026, where Kvalo and members of the publishing team will exhibit in the Portuguese B2B pavilion. Midwest Games has also expanded its leadership team this year with new hires including Charlotte Cook as Executive Advisor for Europe, alongside Chief Operating Officer Adam Orth and Chief Strategy Officer Cisco Maldonado.
