Gamigo has launched State of War, bringing guild castle sieges back to Gloria Victis, its free-to-play medieval MMORPG. The feature was one of the community’s most-requested additions and arrives in an optimized format with new mechanics.

State of War pits rival guilds against each other in 30-minute battles on a defending guild’s Island. Attacking guilds can scout enemy territory, break through fortifications, and capture the opposing guild’s flag before time expires. Defending guilds must hold their castle and repel attackers. Guilds can participate in up to two State of War battles per day—one as attacker and one as defender.

Winning a battle earns Technology Points, used to develop and maintain Guild Technologies. Defeated guilds keep castle ownership, but destroyed fortifications are rebuilt one upgrade level lower. The feature gives guilds a dedicated way to settle rivalries outside Gloria Victis’ larger nation-based conflicts and territory-control battles.

Gloria Victis is available free-to-play on PC through Steam. The game combines skill-based non-target combat with open PvP, territory control, and large-scale battles.
