OFF BOX Studios has released a major update to the free demo of FLING UP TOGETHER, its two-player co-op physics platformer. The updated demo is playable on Steam from October 19 to October 26 as part of Steam Next Fest.
The game ties two players to a single rope and sends them up a vertical world of sky islands, floating ruins and large bridges. Players pull and fling each other across gaps or catch each other mid-fall. When one player falls, the whole team loses progress.
The headline addition is proximity voice chat, which lets players talk to each other directly inside the game. The update also adds character skins and emotes for celebrating a good fling, apologizing for a bad pull or blaming a partner after a fall.
The demo now includes hidden treasure chests placed off the main route and collectible bugs spread across the world. Both are aimed at players who want to explore beyond the standard path.
“Next Fest is where a lot of players will meet the game for the first time, so we wanted the demo to feel like a real taste of the full climb,” said Ammar at OFF BOX Studios. “Proximity chat was the big one. The rope already makes you talk to each other, now the game is part of that conversation.”
FLING UP TOGETHER is coming to Steam. OFF BOX Studios is a small independent studio recently selected for NEOM’s Level Up gaming accelerator, and the game is its debut title.
