This Forever Ago missable achievements and trophies checklist covers every optional pickup, photo, and interaction you can reasonably miss as you move through the story: Audrey’s apartment memories, the road trip, Carl’s Pump and Mart, the motel, the Highway Star Diner, Sam’s house, and the abandoned resort. One caution up front. Achievement and trophy names and unlock conditions never appear, so this guide lists the actions and collectibles you should complete before moving on, not confirmed trophy names.

30-Second Quick-Start (TL;DR)

To avoid missing anything, inspect every object you can, take every photo prompt you get, and finish each location’s side tasks before triggering the next scene.

  • Interact with the objects in the memory rooms (the camera zoom, the books, the movie, the corkboard, the medals) before you leave.
  • Photograph the animal in your first scene and any photo prompts the game gives you.
  • At Carl’s Pump and Mart, buy the items on your list and work through Milton’s dialogue options.
  • Fix the motel’s problems and handle the animal in the trash area before you leave the diner.
  • Collect the flower, the booth, and the jukebox request at the Highway Star Diner.
  • At Sam’s house, water the plants, play fetch, and take the group photo.
  • At the resort, take your yearly photo, find the stickers, and get across to the island.

What This Guide Helps You Do

This guide helps you finish every optional interaction in Forever Ago in a single playthrough so you’re not forced to replay for a stray trophy.

It suits first-timers who want a clean run and completionists who have already finished the story and need to find what they skipped. Because the game’s own trophy list isn’t quoted anywhere here, treat this as a collectible and interaction checklist, and cross-check it against your platform’s achievement list.

Requirements & Prep

You don’t need any special setup, but you should know which items and scenes the story expects you to handle so none of them slip past you.

  • A camera: you get a vintage camera early, and it has a built-in zoom. Use it whenever a photo opportunity appears.
  • Money for the gas station: you pay for pump one, a few groceries, a road atlas, windshield wipers, and an extra item for the road.
  • A hat, which goes missing at the diner and has to be recovered.
  • A road journal. The journal matters at the van breakdown and returns later when you retrieve it.

Route Overview

The game moves through five main areas, and you can only return to a few of them.

You start in Audrey’s apartment, reliving memories through objects and photos. A flashback to a hike at Wilson Falls follows, then you wake up as the older Alfred stopping at Carl’s Pump and Mart. From there you drive to a motel, then the Highway Star Diner. After your van breaks down you end up at Sam’s house, and finally you drive to an abandoned resort where you work toward an island. In words: apartment, waterfall, gas station, motel, diner (booth, flower, trash area), breakdown, Sam’s house, resort gate, boat, island.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

  1. Explore every memory object in the apartment

In the opening apartment scenes, inspect everything you can. The built-in zoom on the camera, the stack of books, the movie you meant to watch, the clothes left around the room, the science project photo, the corkboard, and the medals on the shelf each trigger a short memory. It’s easy to miss a trigger here because the scenes advance on a time cue (Audrey is told it’s past 10:30), so check every object before you move on.

Photograph the injured animal when it appears. The game even prompts a “blink if you need me to call animal services” moment, which is worth interacting with fully.

  2. Take every photo on the Wilson Falls hike

During the hike, the camera is your main tool. Take the quick photo when Alfred asks for one, photograph the sign when he says to try getting a picture of it, and photograph the small animals (the “little cuties”). Later, when Alfred looks like a young James Dean, take that photo too. At the falls, set up the timer photo of the two of you in front of the water for the assignment. These photos are easy to skip if you rush the jumps over the broken trail.

  3. Complete the Carl’s Pump and Mart errands

At the gas station, Milton and a number of shelf items each carry optional dialogue. Take a selfie in the early lighting using the “Selfie Snap Fix” prompt, then work through the shop. Ask about Carl. Pick up the road atlas, the windshield wipers (Milton recommends replacing them, and you agree), a spare item for the road, and a snack. Inspect the sign, the handmade-style rhubarb pie shelf, the bumper stickers, and the photos on the wall. Pay for pump one and agree to Milton’s five-star rating to move the scene along.

The giant pumpkin memory and the “pumpkin that isn’t real” gag are optional looks. The oatmeal raisin versus chocolate chip debate is also an optional shelf interaction.

  4. Handle the motel scenes

At the motel, interact with the room’s problems: the broken air conditioning, the sticky-clean walls, and the phone situation. Each prompts a comment. In the morning, take the pecan pie muffin and the stolen coffee creamers when the memory offers them. These are small, atmospheric pickups that are easy to ignore.

  5. Do the Highway Star Diner tasks in order

The diner has several linked tasks, and the order matters.

    • Check out the old jukebox. It’s decoration only, so request the song from the staff to hear it.
    • Find the flower. You need a red flower with a brown splotch at the base of the petal, shaped like a butterfly. A few grow outside near the cliff view.
    • Ask for the booth by the window. The server says it’s for loyalty members only, so help with her trash problem instead.
    • Go to the back trash disposal area. Something has been getting into the dumpsters and stole your hat. Chase it out and you’ll find it’s a dog. Tell the server about the door that needs fixing.
    • Return and sit in the booth.
  6. Repair the van and get to know Sam

After the breakdown, you wake up in a strange house. Look around the bedroom before you leave: the family photo, the map, the toy, the homework, and the sandwich in the kitchen are all optional looks. Then deal with the van. Dismantle the oil pan to find the problem, then fetch fresh gaskets from the shed.

  7. Help Sam with the garden and play fetch

Sam asks you to water the plants. Split the garden with her and fill your can at the faucet. Talk to her about the garden, her father, and her mother. Pet the dog (the secret is “not trying too hard”). Ask about her space for a dog and learn that the dog snuck into your van. Take a pass at the van repair with the tape and bolts, then go on the walk and play fetch with the stick. Throwing well earns an “Olympic level” comment.

Later, take the group selfie Sam suggests. Aim to get everyone in the frame and smile.

  8. Take the resort photos and find the stickers

At the resort, take the yearly gate photo (the tradition of the exact same picture in the exact same spot), then collect this year’s sticker. Look around for any other stickers. Take the photo of Audrey and Alfred in front of the broken train. Later, ask the dog to hold the camera and take your photo. To reach the island, you need a boat. The working one is behind a locked door, so find the key. Check the burger restaurant for it (and for the old Marley Burger memory), but watch your footing there.

Boss/Set-Piece Strategy (Phase by Phase)

Forever Ago has no combat. Its set pieces are timed or conditional scenes, and the one with the highest risk of a missed objective is the diner trash chase.

Trigger: Agree to find what’s rummaging through the dumpsters. Process: Search the back area, spot the culprit, and drive it away. Recovery: If you leave without finishing, return to the server and you can still resolve it. Your hat is part of this scene, so don’t walk away without it.

Troubleshooting & Common Mistakes

  • Skipped a photo at Wilson Falls → the camera prompts are tied to the hike’s flow, so repeat the hike or check whether the game lets you retry a chapter.
  • Forgot to buy wipers or the atlas → Milton offers them both, so check your basket before paying.
  • Couldn’t sit in the booth → you don’t have loyalty-member status, so help with the trash problem instead.
  • Can’t find the flower → look outside by the cliff view and match the red color and butterfly-shaped splotch.
  • Stuck at the boat → find the key before the locked door. (Likely based on context: the burger restaurant or another building holds it.)
  • Missed the group selfie → talk to Sam again before leaving for the resort.
  • Dog won’t stay → she doesn’t like water, so leave her on land when you take the boat.

FAQ

What are the missable achievements in Forever Ago?

Missable moments include the camera photos on the hike, the gas station purchases and dialogue, the diner booth, flower, and trash chase, Sam’s garden and group selfie, and the resort stickers and photos. Exact trophy names aren’t given here, so check your platform’s list alongside this checklist.

How do I get the booth at the Highway Star Diner in Forever Ago?

You get the booth by helping the server with her trash problem. The booth is for loyalty members, but after you find the animal in the back and tell her about the door, you can sit there.

What flower do I need to find in Forever Ago?

You need a red flower with a brown splotch at the base of the petal that looks like a butterfly. A few grow outside the diner near the cliff view.

How do I fix the van in Forever Ago?

You fix the van by taking apart the oil pan and replacing porous gaskets with fresh ones from the shed at Sam’s house. Sam helps, and the final step is tightening a few bolts.

How do I get to the island at the resort in Forever Ago?

You need a working boat, and the only one is behind a locked door. Look for a key in the park’s buildings, such as the burger restaurant, then take the boat across.

Can I replay chapters to get missed collectibles?

The game doesn’t say whether chapter replay exists, so check the menu. Because the story is linear, treat each scene as one chance and finish its tasks before moving on.
