Fireshine Games, Off-Leash Interactive and Trollheim Studios have announced TROLLHEIM: GNOMES, a co-op survival crafting sandbox inspired by Nordic folklore. The game is set to launch on PC through Steam Early Access later in 2026, according to a press release from the publishers.
Players control a gnome about three inches tall and explore a procedurally generated Dark Forest. The game is built around shelter building, crafting tools and weapons, and interacting with the Väsen creatures that live there. It supports up to eight players, either in co-op or solo.
According to the publishers, the game is a reimagined survival crafter set in the wider Trollheim world, a transmedia fantasy property that the publishers say spans books, games, collectibles and film. The release describes the world as drawing on Nordic folk belief, with gnomes, trolls, faeries and sirens sharing the forest.
Building is a major focus. The announcement says players can construct housing in treetops, inside hollowed logs, in rock crevices or beside forest lakes, and add features such as bridges, moss-covered walls and low lighting. The publishers also say the crafting systems are designed to support a range of playstyles.
An announcement trailer and press assets, including key art and screenshots, were released alongside the news. The Steam store page is live.
