Acclaim and Valadria have released Pixel Washer into Steam Early Access on October 15, 2026, priced at $12.99 USD. The cozy power-washing simulation tasks players with restoring a grimy pixel art town to its former condition, playing as a goggled pig named Pigxel.
Players blast grime off hand-crafted pixel art levels, spend money earned on jobs to upgrade their washers and vehicles, and work through a variety of dirty settings set to a chill soundtrack. The developer describes the game as zen-like and built around satisfying sound design.
A Switch 2 version is planned alongside the game’s 1.0 release in 2027. According to the publisher, Early Access will bring new content, features, quality-of-life improvements and community-driven updates before 1.0 arrives. Acclaim has also said it is exploring crossover and licensing opportunities during that period.
To mark the launch, Acclaim has released a trailer narrated by Tim Kitzrow, known for his work on NBA Jam. A press kit and review code request form are also available.
Pixel Washer is developed by Valadria, a California-based indie studio run by Matt Hackett. Acclaim, which was founded in 1987 and published franchises including Mortal Kombat and Turok, is now focused on publishing indie games.
