My Friendly Neighborhood, a puppet-based survival horror game from developers John and Evan Szymanski and publisher DreadXP, launched today on Nintendo Switch 2 for $29.99. The game was previously released on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and the original Nintendo Switch.
The game puts players in the role of Handyman Gordon, who investigates a disturbance at a local television studio that once housed the children’s show The Friendly Neighborhood. The puppets have come to life and taken over the studio, and the player must fight them off using letter-based weapons while solving puzzles and managing an inventory. According to the publisher, the game combines elements of non-linear survival games with environments such as cardboard crayon hallways.
According to the publisher, the game has an 83 Metacritic score and thousands of “Very Positive” user reviews on Steam. A post-launch mode called Neighborhorde is also included in the Switch 2 release.
DreadXP has offered Switch 2 review keys to press and said the game could be considered for year-end award lists. A trailer for the game is available on YouTube, and a press kit has been made available.
