Fortnite has finally said it out loud, without saying a word. On Saturday afternoon the official Fortnite account posted three straw hat emojis (the Straw Hat Pirates’ trademark) and a seven-second clip: a ship with a ram’s-head figurehead sailing through moonlit clouds, then a lockup that reads “Fortnite | One Piece”. The ship is the Going Merry, the Straw Hat crew’s first vessel, and the post passed 100,000 likes within two hours.
Three straw hat emojis, and nothing else.

What the teaser confirms, and what it does not
The clip confirms that a One Piece collaboration is coming to Fortnite and that Epic is treating it as a headline event rather than a quiet Item Shop drop: the ship gets a cinematic reveal and a co-branded logo. It does not give a date, a list of skins, or say whether the crossover runs as a full season, a mini-season or a shop collection. Epic has published nothing beyond the post.
The clues point to the week after the current season ends
Fortnite’s current season is due to wrap up at the end of October, and dataminers have been expecting a short mini-season to follow it before the next full chapter beat. Two earlier breadcrumbs lined up with One Piece: on October 6 the Fortnite account answered a fan mock-up of anime crossovers with a numbered ticket stub, and a recent Rocket League update shipped a file whose description echoes Gol D. Roger’s opening speech from the series. Rocket League and Fortnite usually share crossovers. None of that is confirmed by Epic, so treat early November as the expectation, not the date.
Expect the Straw Hats in the shop, not the pass
The thread under the teaser is already arguing about where Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp and Sanji will land. Recent Fortnite crossovers of this size have put the licensed characters in the Item Shop and kept the battle pass for original designs, and players in the thread expect the same here. That is a pattern, not an announcement. The only hard facts are the ship, the logo and the three hats.
One Piece is in its biggest year in a while outside the game: the Elbaph arc is airing, the anime remake The One Piece is set for February 2027, and two films are in production. A Fortnite crossover is the kind of placement a franchise lines up when it wants a new generation of players to know the Going Merry on sight.
