Aniplex announced that Fate/EXTRA Record will launch on January 28, 2027 across PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2. The game is available to wishlist on Steam now, with physical preorders opening at retailers today.
The remake completely recreates the original 2010 Fate/EXTRA RPG for modern platforms. It includes entirely new story content, redrawn character designs, and a deck-building dramatic command battle system. Players take the role of a Master—a high school student suffering from amnesia—who commands servants based on historical figures in a seven-round Holy Grail War tournament set on the moon.
Aniplex will host a livestream deep dive on September 4, 2026 at 8:00 PM JST (11:00 AM UTC / 4:00 AM PT / 7:00 AM ET / 12:00 PM BST / 1:00 PM CEST) on the TYPE-MOON YouTube channel, narrated by voice actors Atsushi Abe and Yui Ishikawa.
Fate/EXTRA Record comes in four editions. Standard editions cost $59.99 USD on Steam and consoles, or $69.99 USD on Nintendo Switch 2. The physical Limited Edition is $89.99 USD ($99.99 on Switch 2) and includes a 75-track soundtrack and art book. The Digital Deluxe Edition costs $79.99 USD and adds outfit packs and an arrangement of the original Fate/EXTRA soundtrack.
The game supports Japanese audio with subtitles in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean. It is rated ESRB T / PEGI 12 / USK 12 / ACB M / DGSC 15+.
