Crushed in Time Brings Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson Back for a Meta Time-Travel Mystery

Developer Draw Me a Pixel has announced that the beloved duo of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson are making their triumphant return to gaming in an entirely new adventure that promises to bend both time and player expectations. Following their memorable appearance in There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension, the eccentric investigators are back with their signature blend of incompetence and charm in Crushed in Time, set to launch in 2026.

The game kicks off with an intriguing mystery: just as a new Sherlock Holmes video game hits the market, one of its characters mysteriously vanishes. Players must guide the bumbling detective duo through a meta-narrative that transcends the boundaries of their digital world, traveling to the very heart of the game’s creation process. This unique premise allows players to explore various stages of game development while unraveling the threads of this peculiar case.

Crushed in Time distinguishes itself as an offbeat point-and-click adventure that embraces its own absurdity. The developers proudly tout dialogue recorded by “real humans” – described as “all natural, non-GMO and additive-free” – adding to the game’s tongue-in-cheek humor. Players can expect puzzles that will require “up to three neurons,” as the developers jokingly admit they “couldn’t keep up beyond that.”

The visual presentation blurs the line between 2D and 3D graphics, with even the developers seemingly unsure which style they’ve actually implemented. This self-aware approach extends throughout the experience, which promises to be full of humor and surprise; and possibly bugs, as the team candidly acknowledges.

Joining Holmes and Watson is a cast of new, endearing characters who will help bring this time-traveling mystery to life. The game offers what the developers call “fun and elastic gameplay,” suggesting a flexible approach to puzzle-solving and exploration.

Crushed in Time will launch across multiple platforms including PC, Mac, iOS, Android, and Nintendo Switch, with subtitles available in 10 languages. This broad accessibility ensures that players worldwide can enjoy this unconventional take on the classic detective duo when it releases in 2026.
