I used to do Comments of the Week at Destructoid for a bit alongside a bunch of endlessly talented people who did all of the incredible graphic designs we came up with. It didn’t last but it was fun! Destructoid was a place where I met some cool people through the Social Media Community section Qtoid, and the ability to post blogs about whatever game topic you felt passionate about.

The current landscape is not interested in that, they want regurgititated slop like guides and PR for their video game partners. Games Journalism has lost a lot of its credibility because of this, because of the vultures that run the show.
I hope Independent media will find all the success they need and I think it’s cool that old editors at Dtoid are trying to bring back what was so magical about that place.
